Fundamentals of Derivatives (2-Day Course)

  • Have a sound understanding of the ‘no-arbitrage’ principle of asset pricing.

  • Be familiar with the fundamental properties of forwards, futures, swaps and option contracts.

  • Understand basic hedging and trading strategies that employ derivative securities.

  • Understand risk measures (‘Greeks’) associated with derivative securities.

  • Be familiar with the application of options to capital budgeting decisions.

Principles of Risk Management (3-Day Course)

December 14th – 16th

  • Have a sound understanding of standard risk measures.

  • Be aware of the strengths and weaknesses of the various approaches to risk measurement.

  • Understand the implications of recent risk events for risk management and prudential regulation.

  • Understand the issues surrounding current risk regulation.
