Married Put Explained

Married Put Explained

A Married Put (also known as Protective Put) is effectively a trading or hedging strategy which allows you to engineer downside protection on a long position on underlying stock or some financial security.

If a put and a stock are bought the same day and their position is designated a hedge, then they are considered to be “married”.
